David Baker egy képe kapcsán jó kis beszélgetés alakult ki tegnap a d'art Critics Corner oldalán. Elmentettem ide, hogy meglegyen nekem is.This has a very painterly feel. It's kind of hard to tell the technique. It's very beautiful. There is the right mix of lights and darks. The sliver of a face surprises you. Nice work. RollinMany thanks Rollin, and to you too Katalin! To Rollin: my technique here was to combine an original watercolour with major digital reworking, employing several (I believe) unique processes, none of which involve Photoshop, or any of its rivals. My aim has always been to create mixed and new media art which keeps the viewer guessing. With regard to the particular techniques employed by different artists, I subscribe to Michaelangelo's comments that: "A man paints with his brains and not with his hands." david:)I agree with Michaelangelo and you, David :)9/14/2006 8:55 AM "A man paints with his brains and not with his hands." And I would like also to say: an artist paints with his/her heart, emotions and experiances. A great part of the creation is a question about him/herself, about the world. I think, it can be defined as an outcome of the conversation between known and unknown things within and outside of the artist. (Katalin)I think this is true:9/14/2006 9:27 AM "I think it can be defined as an outcome of the conversation between known and unknown things within and outside of the artist." And I would also add that not only is it the "outcome," but "for me" it is the "entire evolutionary narrative" from that first word of the conversation to the last, a kind of "visual record of a new growth in awareness."lkaloidisThanks to you both Lee anfd Katalin!I also take the human 'mind' to include the 'heart' and 'essense' of the person Katalin, and Lee is also correct, artistic creativity is part of a life-long and life-evolving journey, reflecting changes and observatons within and without each individual and embodied in their work. david:)
